Radiohead - Street Spirit(Fade Out) - Song of The Day

So, this is probably my favorite band of all time! But I kind of lost them for a little while, until I heard this song on the radio today. It caught me again. Some people might say that Radiohead is depressing, and they might be right. But I really think that this is some of the best music ever made. I can't describe how much I enjoy listening to these guys. Thom Yorke's amazing voice, Jonny Greenwood's screaming guitar and alternative playing, Colin Greenwood's deep, dark bass, Ed O'Brien's vocals and ambient guitar playing and Phil Selway's awesome drumming all makes this band what it is.

Kanye West - Runaway

Hey!

This is my song of the day! This is Runaway by Kanye West feat. Pusha T. The video is from a concert he did in Copenhagen, Denmark. I had tickets but wasn't there. People say you should not regret anything, but  I regret not being there. Runaway and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is some of the best music I have ever heard. It was released last year and I remember this as some of the only music I listened to during Christmas time. Kanye West did an amazing job on the beats and the musical themes in this song and the album. Kanye's talent is rock solid!

He might be a douche bag, asshole, scumbag or a jerk off, but I forget all about that when something this great is released. This song makes me stop doing what I am doing and just listen. I really think that people who says that "The Old Kanye West was better" haven't heard My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy yet!

By the way Pusha T is mad underrated, I think. I rap along when his verse comes on :)

(The video isn't that good, but the sound is decent)

Please comment, press follow or subscribe it would help me a lot

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Slane Castle - Song of the Day

So Red Hot Chili Peppers are releasing their new album next week. So I thought I would put up this live performance. This to me is probably the best performance these guys ever did. And two of the best songs they have recorded this far. I don't have so much time today, so this is just a small post. But check these guys out.

And subscribe and comment it would really help me out. cya.

George Watsky - Song Of The Day

So this guy was made of a youtube video called: "Pale Kid Raps Fast"
But he has so much more talent than rapping fast. This guy can write lyrics! And whether he is at a poetry slam or rapping his lyrics over a nice piece of music this guy really shows that he has talent. I really enjoy listening to him.

Well this is a Diddy Mix from "Coming Home"which is a great track as well, but this is just brilliant!

Check out his channel on Youtube. And tell me what you think in the comments. And please subscribe to my blog if you like it.

Song Of The Day

This is my "Song Of The Day"

"Otis" by Jay-Z and Kanye West.

I felt like having this as SOTD today because I just did a review on Watch The Throne, where i mentioned this song so here is the video. The video is hilarious, they look like happy children :)

Feel free to leave a comment and tell me what your Song of The Day is.

Watch The Throne

Damn Yeezy and Hov where the hell you been?

I don't think they left, but they are back with this awesome collaboration album. Released August 8, 2011. And it was popular, in the first week it sold 436000 copies. I have one of those.... Because to me Kanye West and Jay-Z are the kings of hip-hop (at least right now). But lets get to the music.

Kanye West shows once again that he likes to take different tracks, cut them in pieces, put them together and make awesome songs. Some people don't like this because they say - Oh he ruined my favorite song or he killed this masterpiece. But I think that this gives you the opportunity to hear some old songs with some new lyrics on top. And when I hear a hip-hop song with some samples in it I like to take my time and listen to the originals. So it makes me listen to some music I might not had heard before, which is great. But this is not like his latest solo album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" the beats are not as magnificent or as epic, they are more old-school hip-hop/rap like. More simple and classic, a little bit more Jay-Z like.

Jay-Z, H.O.V.A, Jigga "The Flow of Century" shows his ability to rap that I certainly don't hope was doubted. He has been around for a long time, and he is still hungry, he wants more, he as a lot more to say. On this album these two guys really show that they can write! Both serious and funny lyrics with some good punch lines like:

"Niggas hustle every day for a beat from Ye / What I do? Turn around gave them beats to Jay / And I'm rapping on the beat they was supposed to buy / I guess I'm getting high off my own supply"

or

"And I'll never let my son have an ego / He'll be nice to everyone, wherever we go / I mean, I might even make 'em be Republican / So everybody know he love white people"

The song that stand out to me is "No Church in The Wild", "New Day", "Gotta Have It" and especially "Otis featuring Otis Redding".

"Otis" is probably my favorite sounding track not necessarily the best lyrics but if we look at the song overall it is the highlight of the album for me at least one of them along with the other tracks I just listed.

Overall this shows that Jay-Z put out his hit collection a little early because some of the tracks here could have made it. And when these guys work together, magic happens. It started with Jays first Blueprint which Kanye produced several tracks on. And also Kanye's College Dropout where they made "Never Let Me Down" together. So this is my first review hope you'll like it.

Ratings:

Overall: 9/10
Creativity: 8/10

Song of The Day

Home Sweet Home by Chris Minh Doky

Today has been a quiet day at home, so this little jazz song fits perfectly for today. Chris Minh Doky plays bass and is well known here in Denmark but he has lived in NYC so you might know him if you are into jazz. Jazz is not my favorite genre, but this guy was at my school and he inspired me. And I really like his melodic bass lines.
